Axis release the first 210MHz tuneable multi-carrier 2x10W WiMAX Radio Remote Head at CTIA 2009

Axis Network Technology will be show casing their multi-carrier 210MHz bandwidth Radio Remote Head at CTIA (Booth 8526). The product is adaptable and covers various bandwidths but it is particularly suitable to the North American Market as it covers the higher 2.48GHz band up to the 2.69GHz.

“We are extremely pleased by the power efficiency of the Axis RRH and the performance of Axis DPD over such a wide band. This gives our customers a very flexible product exceeding the most stringent market spectral mask requirements and providing a high quality signal, hence minimizing interference and maximizing the network capacity” says Steve Cooper, CTO and co-founder.

The product delivers 2x10W over the entire 210MHz bandwidth and outperform the FCC and ETS 302 544 specifications. This RRH is delivered using the existing modules and Power Amplifiers technology delivered in high volume to customers worldwide enclosed in Axis’s standard 18 litre package. This wide band RRH dissipates only 130 watts when operating at full RF output power.

“This product brings multiple benefits to OEMs and operators. It addresses the band plan of key customers as well as simplifying logistics by having one SKU for most operators. The high efficiency of the product and its adaptability are a real asset to maximize the OEMs and operators investments. It reduces OPEX and logistics at all levels of the supply the chain.” Says Simon Mellor, CEO.

This new RRH is an extension to Axis’ existing product line of 2.3, 2.5 and 3.6GHz Radio Remote Heads including features such as multi-carrier, MIMO and MISO configuration and multi-air-interface capabilities.
